Paris, France

romantic cities in europe, romantic paris

Paris is one of the most romantic destinations in the world, famous for its beautiful architecture, iconic landmarks, and renowned gastronomy. If you have a full weekend in Paris, be sure to catch the sunset from the top of Montmartre, the hill that overlooks the city. Spend another sunset at Pont Neuf, where you bring a picnic of bread, cheese, and wine to enjoy while you watch the Seine river cruises pass by.

For a romantic dinner while you’re visiting Paris, try a cozy bistro a little off the beaten path like Le Florimond. There, you’ll find traditional French food with an emphasis on using local ingredients. Order the house wine if you’d like to save a few euros, as it usually pairs well with the food and is cheaper than a bottle you might select off of the wine list.

You’ll want to stay somewhere relatively central while visiting Paris. The Hôtel Le Walt would be a fabulous choice for a romantic weekend. If you can, try to reserve a room that overlooks the Eiffel Tower.

Prague, Czech Republic

Prague equals romance. No matter if you’re visiting as two lovebirds or with little ones in tow, there’s a high probability Prague is going to turn you into a hopeless romantic.

Whether you fall for the historical winding alleys, Prague’s thousand spires piercing through the sky, or swan-dotted Vltava River, you’re sure to be even more in love.

Even the traditional top things to do in Prague are somewhat romantic – visiting Prague Castle, strolling over the medieval Charles Bridge to the Old Town, with its Astronomical clock and towers and merchant houses and old churches and…

Did you know Prague has a tower that looks like a small version of the Eiffel Tower in Paris? Petřín Tower is located on a hill of the same name and offers beautiful views of the city. You can walk up if you don’t mind a little workout, or ride a comfy funicular.

On the top, there’s also a lovely rose garden and a mirror maze. In the maze, you’ll have a lot of fun and kids especially will love it there.

If you wish to stay somewhere romantic, you must book Hotel U Raka. Its location in the heart of Prague’s New World couldn’t be more perfect – near the Prague Castle yet beautifully tucked away. The cute hotel looks like a lovely house on the outside and features cozy interiors with a lot of wood.

Mdina, Malta

Arguably one of the most romantic cities in Europe is the ancient walled city of Mdina. With its quiet narrow streets, intimate cafes, and hidden alleys of hanging flowers, romance floods this quiet, medieval city.

It is the perfect destination for couples looking for a romantic getaway and one of the top reasons to visit Malta.

Nicknamed the Silent City, Mdina is unlike anywhere else in Europe and is sure to leave you speechless. Passing through the magnificent gate feels like stepping into a fairytale.

Meander through the towering maze of limestone walls past artist workshops, museums, cathedrals and palazzos towards Bastion Square where you will find amazing panoramic views of Malta.

Make sure to stop in at Fontanella Tea Garden, perched atop the city walls, and sample an Amaretto flavored hot chocolate with a piece of their delicious homemade cake.

End your day at the luxurious Palazzo Bifora Boutique Hotel, located in the heart of Mdina. This romantic, historic hotel offers cozy rooms with timeless décor. Guests can enjoy a buffet or a la carte breakfast, a charming palazzo, and a heated rooftop pool with amazing views of Mdina. Everything to make your stay a romantic, memorable experience!
